Society of Colonial Wars
For information, use this link: General Society of Colonial Wars.  I am not including their
complete requirements here because I cannot speak for the Society.
Basically, you need an ancestor who, prior to the Revolutionary War, was in one of the
Colonies that became the United States. In addition, your ancestor must have served in some
capacity, military or civic, during one of the many wars between 1607 and 1775.
Click the "Qualifications" link at the SCW site to see if you are qualified.
Walter PALMER is my 8th Great Grandfather and my Qualifying Ancestor for the Society of Colonial Wars. He
was born about 1585 in England and migrated to Massachusetts in 1629. He first settled in Charlestown,
Massachusetts and became a Freeman there on 18 May 1631. He died in Stonington, Connecticut on 10 Nov
1661 at the age of 76. Little is known about his first wife except that they had five children. He married Rebecca
SHORT (my 8th Great Grandmother) on 1 Jun 1633. They had seven children.
